Cheesecake by Gregory Guy

Apparently, I accidentally deleted the post that I made on Gregory Guy's Cheesecake. So anyway, here is the second shot!

Last November, I read a review from Desserts come first about Gregory Guy's cheesecake and I knew that I had to try it! Around the same time, there was a Groupon promo on Chef Guy's cheesecake at 50% off! The God's must have been on my side, so I grabbed the opportunity and got 2 coupons.

It was only last February that I was able to redeem the cheesecakes because I was actually trying to avoid desserts.

Once I got home I quickly headed to the kitchen and ate a slice. It was so good! It's one of the best I have tasted so far-
Smooth, velvety and melts in your mouth! I had to stop myself from devouring the whole cheesecake!

There are several flavors to choose from: Classic, Lemon, Coffee, and Oreo. Premium cheesecakes are Matcha and Vanilla. It also comes in two sizes: Mini (Php 500 for the regular flavors and Php 600 for the premium flavors) and Regular (Php 1000 for the regular flavors and Php 1200 for the premium flavors). Order at least two days in advance. Unfortunately orders are only for pick up either in Greenmeadows or Jupiter St. In Makati.

You definitely need to try it!

Mommy bakes: Oreo cheesecake

For the longest time I have been dying to try this cheesecake recipe that I found in the net. I compared it to the other recipes I found and it seemed that Chantal's New York Cheesecake had a lot of positive feedback and was rated 4.5 stars. I just substituted the crust with Oreo and added Oreo bits to the batter since I had a pound of crushed Oreos waiting to be used. I baked it for an hour and left it in the oven for around 2 hours and had it cooled at room temperature for 5 hours.

The verdict? It was good. So good! I think I gained a few pounds eating it for 3 days (hahaha)! Though the next time I need to lower down the temp to around 325F (against 350F) and line the pan with aluminum foil since the sides were a little toasted. I will also use low fat cream cheese and Splenda to make it less fattening next time. I forgot to mention that I totally forgot to grease the pan! Lazy me! I was lucky that the cake did not stick to the pan when I transferred it to a plate and there were very few cracks.

This will definitely be a recipe I will keep and will surely keep making.
